The question “How can I be saved?” is the most important question any person can ask. It deals with our eternal destiny—where we will spend forever after this life is over. The good news is that the Bible gives a clear and simple answer.
When the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” they replied,
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”
—Acts 16:30–31
Below is what the Bible teaches about salvation and how you can receive it today.
The Bible teaches that every person is a sinner:
Sin is not just a mistake—it is rebellion against a holy God.
Because of sin:
This is why we need salvation.
The Bible says the consequence of sin is death:
This includes physical death, but it also means eternal separation from God.
Because our sin is against an eternal God, the penalty is eternal as well (Psalm 51:4).
Scripture describes this judgment as:
This is what Jesus came to save us from.
We cannot save ourselves. No amount of good works, religion, or effort can erase our sin.
So God did what we could never do.
Because Jesus is fully human, He could die.
Because He is fully God, His sacrifice has infinite and eternal value.
His death paid the full penalty for our sin:
His resurrection proved that His sacrifice was complete and accepted by God.
The Bible’s answer is simple and clear:
—Acts 16:31
Salvation is not earned—it is a gift:
To be saved, you must:
Jesus Himself said:
There is no other way. Jesus is the only Savior.
God offers salvation freely.
He invites you to come to Him in faith, believing that Jesus paid it all.
If you have trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior today, we would love to rejoice with you and help you grow in your new relationship with Him.
